As a recruiter I use many avenues when networking or recruiting for a position. LinkedIn gives me the opportunity to read first hand what the candidates work history holds. When I look at a possible candidates and there isn’t enough information written up about skills, education etc. I pass. If you are looking or want to have a future employer reach out to you please set up your LinkedIn page as if was your resume. Many people are now putting their resume on their page. Please leave out address information, but put a cell number in case they would like to contact you. Don’t assume in that in this economy opportunities aren’t there. Let that new position find you.
Also if you are out of work put some tags word on your page. Seeking Employment, Looking for Word etc. Tag words help your new employer find you.
